Embracing Healing: Discovering Peace and Wisdom After the Loss of a Loved One is the art of balancing and aligning Body, Heart, Mind, Soul, Spirit, and Financial Freedom. Together, we cultivate grateful hearts, peaceful minds, and healing souls, radiating our inner light to ourselves and the world.
As I sit by the lotus pond, meditating and listening to the gentle chirping of birds, I feel the sun’s warmth embrace me. In this serene moment, I return to my spiritual home—a place I often call my Zen island. The tranquil setting fills me with a deep sense of peace and tranquility, a feeling I wish to share to bring you a sense of calm and ease in your journey.
My heart overflows with gratitude, and with the powerful energy of the sun, the moon, and Mother Nature, I am ready and open to receive effortless abundance flowing easily into my life right now. I trust in miracles and divine timing.
I repeat the mantra that has guided my healing journey: “As I breathe in, I inhale positivity, peace, happiness, and abundance. Breathing out, I exhale negativity, worries, and stress. I detach from anything that takes away my peace and happiness, weighs me down, and no longer serves me.” These words, inspired by my own experience and the teachings of Zen, remind me that peace and happiness are here and now, in the present moment. For me, finding peace in the present moment means acknowledging my feelings of grief and loss but also recognizing the beauty and joy that still exist in the world. It means allowing myself to feel the warmth of the sun on my skin, the sound of birds chirping, and the love of my children. This is what Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh so beautifully calls the “wonderful moment.” I call them “magical moments” — those instances of pure joy and beauty that remind me of the preciousness of life.
I consciously choose to live in the present, embracing its magical moment. I have learned to navigate life by staying deeply grounded and rooted, balanced, aligned, and flowing with the Universe, just like water. As a widow, a mother, certified grief and energy healing coach, licensed esthetician specializing in anti-aging and wellness, mindful practitioner, and entrepreneur raising two children and supporting my widowed mother who is facing severe pain of arthritis, I realize body, heart, mind, soul, spiritual, and financial freedom unite, helping me feel whole.
This Inner Light Valley blog is a nurturing space where we practice self-healing, self-care, self-reflection, self-worth, self-confidence, self-esteem, self-awareness, and self-discovery. I share my personal journey and the lessons I’ve learned on this platform, hoping to inspire and guide others in their healing journey. Together, we cultivate grateful hearts, peaceful minds and healing souls, radiating our inner light to ourselves and the world.
Like many of you, my journey has been marked by profound moments. In 2016, my world was shaken when my husband unexpectedly succumbed to a heart attack, followed by my father’s death from COVID-19. These experiences brought me to a crossroads, where I discovered that self-healing requires inner work. This realization, born from my own journey, is what I share with you today.
With the profound lessons I have learned from the Bible, accepting and having faith in God’s plan, studying Dharma teachings, Buddhism, the human brain, and neuroscience, I strive to balance, align, and flow with the Universe. Lessons from Zen masters such as Thich Nhat Hanh, who taught “Be still and heal,” “Be still and know,” “Be still and see,” and “The way out is in,” have been instrumental. Additionally, Thich Minh Niem’s teachings on moving toward the sun of inner wisdom and Thich Phap Hoa’s insights on life’s impermanence have guided me. Self-healing methods like the Silva Ultramind System By Vishen Lakhiani and Jose Silva and Duality By Energy Healer Jeffrey Allen are revolutionary programs that teach meditation and visualization to change your life. I have included links at the end of the blog that you might find helpful about this and similar programs.
When grief struck, I returned to my spiritual home, embraced self-care, self-reflection, self-healing, self-worth, self-confidence, self-esteem, self-awareness, and self-discovery, and learned to live in the present and its magical moments. These practices have empowered me to take control of my healing journey, and they can do the same for you, making you feel strong and capable in your journey.
With a unique blend of energy healing, anti-aging, and wellness expertise, I offer a comprehensive approach to healing. This approach is not just about recovery but about transformation. Through this work—a combination of mindfulness practice and balancing the body, mind, heart, soul, and spiritual aspects with the Universe—I strive to bring renewed hope, youthfulness, resilience, and inner strength to those in need. We find our strength like an eagle soaring above the storm with fearless grace.
As we embark on this journey, we will delve into our infinite potential and uncover our inner wisdom. Let us shine like the sun, spreading positivity, forgiveness, loving-kindness, light, and compassion, becoming free and liberated wherever we go. Remember, you are not alone on this path. We are all on this journey together, supporting and learning from each other to make you feel connected and supported.
Reflecting in this tranquil setting, it’s almost surreal to think about the double losses I have endured. Time has carried me forward, relentless in its march, yet the weight of these losses has been a constant companion on my journey. However, this journey has been far from mere survival; it has been a profound path of self-healing, a quest to seek and find light, peace, and a deeper understanding of true happiness. I share this journey with you to inspire hope and healing in your own life and to show you that even in the depths of grief, there is the potential for profound transformation and growth.
By turning inward, applying his insights of “Be still and heal,” “Be still and know,” and “Be still and see,” I could confront my pain, understand it, and ultimately transform it into a source of strength and peace. The teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh’s book No Death, No Fear offered me a new perspective on life and death. It helped me realize that while the physical form of my loved ones was no longer present, their essence, spirit, and love remained. This understanding brought me a sense of peace I hadn’t thought possible. I began to see death not as an end but as a continuation, a transformation of energy and spirit. Just as a cloud never truly dies but transforms into rain, mist, or snow, our loved ones continue in different forms. This realization was further deepened by another of Thich Nhat Hanh’s teachings, “The Cloud Never Dies.” The metaphor of the cloud became a source of comfort for me. It helped me to see that just as the cloud is never truly lost, my loved ones were never truly gone. They had simply transformed, becoming part of life’s vast, interconnected web. This understanding allowed me to let go of the fear of loss and embrace the beauty of transformation and continuity.
As I continued this journey of self-healing, I discovered that peace and true happiness are not destinations but states of being that we cultivate within ourselves. By embracing mindfulness and living in the present moment, I learned to appreciate life’s simple joys, be grateful for my time with my loved ones, and carry their light within me. This journey has not been easy, and there are still moments when the weight of grief feels overwhelming. But each day, I choose to seek out the light, to find peace in the present moment, and to honor the memory of my loved ones by living a life filled with love, compassion, and kindness. I encourage you to do the same, find strength and peace in the present moment, and realize that healing and transformation can begin in the present moment.
In sharing my story, I commit to offering comfort and encouragement to others walking a similar path. Grief can be a heavy burden but can also be a gateway to deeper understanding, healing, and transformation. By embracing the teachings of wisdom traditions like Zen Buddhism, we can find the strength to turn inward, heal, and discover a sense of peace that transcends the pain of loss.
I am reminded that healing is not a linear process but a continual unfolding of the heart and spirit. Each day brings new challenges and new growth opportunities. In the quiet moments of reflection, I am grateful for the lessons I have learned, the peace I have found, and the light guiding me forward. In the end, my losses have taught me that life is a precious, fragile gift. It has shown me the importance of cherishing each moment, living with intention, and finding joy in the simple, everyday experiences that make up our lives. And perhaps most importantly, it has shown me that even amid profound loss, there is always the possibility of healing, finding peace, and discovering a more profound wisdom that sustains us on our journey.
With peace, light, love, and gratitude!
