Life often unfolds like a rich tapestry woven with both joy and sorrow. My own journey has been a profound mix of both. As a widow raising two children, a certified grief and energy healing coach, a licensed esthetician, and a caregiver to my mother facing daily challenges with arthritis, I have come to recognize the vital importance of self-care, inner strength, and balance. These practices have facilitated my healing and inspired me to guide others toward recovery and renewal.
One day, after a particularly challenging week, I sat in stillness. In the quiet sanctuary of my bathtub, I closed my eyes, envisioning the energy of the sun and moon replenishing me as I reflected on the weight of my responsibilities. In that moment of quietude, I felt a shift within—a gentle whisper from my heart, reminding me of the boundless capacity for love and healing in us all.
The Flow of Energy and the Heart’s Wisdom
Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh wisely stated, “The heart, like a river, can expand into an ocean.” This profound truth reminds us that love, peace, and healing are boundless. Our energy shapes our thoughts, emotions, and experiences. By aligning our energy through meditation, healing, and self-care, we unlock a deeper connection to the Universe and our inner light. An open heart flows like an endless river—full of potential, grace, and love. Imagine standing by a river, watching it flow effortlessly. In those moments of observation, we learn the art of letting go, understanding that healing is not merely about overcoming pain but expanding our capacity to love and live fully.

In my spiritual practice, I often reflect on the eagle—a symbol of strength and trust. The eagle soars high above challenges, trusting that the wind will lift it higher. Life invites us to trust God’s plan, rise above our fears and doubts, and believe we are guided, even in difficult times.
Trusting the journey requires faith and surrender. Like the eagle, our hearts expand when we allow ourselves to be lifted by unseen currents. Love, joy, and the inevitable pains of life can flow through us without overwhelming our spirits.
Stillness and Healing: The Art of Inner Alignment
Healing encompasses physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions. Energy flows through our bodies, and when it becomes blocked—by stress, trauma, or fear—we may feel disconnected and unwell. Mindfulness, stillness, and self-awareness allow us to realign our energy and restore balance. In my practice, I have found that quiet moments—when I enable stillness to settle—often reveal the most profound insights. Zen teachings remind us that stillness is about finding calm amidst life’s storms. In these quiet moments, we hear the voice of our inner wisdom.

At the core of our journey lies love—love for ourselves, others, and life itself. Yet, love cannot flourish when we cling to anger, resentment, or fear. True liberation arises from forgiveness, freeing our hearts to love more fully. I remember a time when I struggled to let go of past grievances. The average human body is 60%-70% water. Without water, we cannot survive. Bruce Lee once said, “Empty your mind. Be formless, shapeless, like water.” This wisdom invites us to embrace fluidity and learn to adapt rather than resist.
In my experience, the moments when I’ve felt the most liberated are those when I surrendered to the flow of life. We discover profound freedom by allowing ourselves to navigate the ever-changing currents of existence. Like the eagle, we learn that strength lies not in resistance but in embracing life’s fluidity.

What you imagine, you create.” This essentially means that your thoughts, feelings, and imagination have the power to shape your reality.

As we align with life’s flow, we must also align our inner energy. Our seven chakras—energy centers within the body—are keys to this balance. When they are open and aligned, we experience harmony across all aspects of our lives: physical, emotional, and spiritual. By practicing mindfulness and self-care, we can remove the blocks that hinder our energy flow, allowing for a more harmonious existence. “The Way Out Is In” is a podcast series and a piece of calligraphy by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh that both explore finding a way out of difficulty by looking within. This concept echoes the profound teaching of Zen Master Thich Minh Niem, likening it to a tiger returning to its cave to lick its wounds and avoiding hunting to evade attacks from other animals.
