Serenity Huyen Nghiem Tinh – 07.11.2024
Before my husband passed away, I was a Catholic, but I believe in faith. In 2024, I will introduce myself to meditation, but I was not interested then. Two years later, when he passed away, I started to find my path to practice mindfulness and meditation and began to go to meditation retreats at Deer Park Monastery (Lang Mai). In this sacred and nurturing monastery, we can practice self-care, self-reflection, and self-healing, and I started to get to know Buddha. I had fate again in 2023. When I practiced self-care and self-healing, a friend of mine introduced me to watching the life of Buddha.
Who is Buddha?
Siddhartha Gautama (better known as the Buddha, l. c. 563 – c. 483 BCE) was, according to legend, a Hindu prince who renounced his position and wealth to seek enlightenment as a spiritual ascetic, attained his goal and, in preaching his path to others, founded Buddhism in India in the 6th-5th centuries BCE.
Gautama Buddha was an ascetic sage whose teachings founded Buddhism. He was an enlightened teacher who attained full “Buddhahood” and shared his insights with the world. Buddhism is based on a peaceful and calm way of living thanks to meditation. You can also benefit from using a meditation technique or a mindfulness practice to stay calm in today’s busy world.
With these beautiful and profound words, I hope you’ll find inspiration, peace, and inner wisdom.
My favorite quotes:
“What you think, you become, what you feel, you attract, and what you imagine, you create” is a quote attributed to Buddha.
“The mind is everything. What you think you become.” — Buddha
Buddha had a solid understanding of the power of the mind. He understood that what you think about you become.
Focus on what you are trying to create, not what is going wrong in your life. Monitor your thoughts so you can become aware of them regularly. The more beautiful, happy, and positive your thoughts, the more they will reflect in your outer world.
“Happiness will never come to those who fail to appreciate what they already have.” – Buddha.
While it’s okay to want more in life, remember to appreciate what you already have. Gratitude is one of the biggest keys to happiness and experiencing joy.
“Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.” — Buddha
Being present is often overlooked in today’s busy world. A morning meditation practice can help you become more mindful and centered daily.

“To keep the body in good health is a duty… otherwise, we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.” – Buddha.
Remember how important your health is to your mind. If you eat poorly, skip exercising, and don’t sleep enough, your mind won’t be able to function as well. Remember that health is wealth. Don’t sacrifice your health in the chase for money and riches.
“There is no fear for one whose mind is not filled with desires.” — Buddha
“Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.” — Buddha Quotes
Tell the truth. Don’t hide your true feelings, such as resentment, anger, or frustration. They will create a hostile environment within you and reflect negatively on your outer world.
“We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow never leaving.” — Buddha.
Thoughts really do become things. The prehistoric mind runs off of fear as it tries to help you survive. That’s why 70% of the thoughts that come to your mind are negative.
But once you become aware of this habit, you can replace those negative thoughts of doubt, fear, or failure with positive ones. The more you can control your thoughts, the more joy and love you will experience.
